Wednesday 24/5/2017.
Today we decided to visit Ronda. Jerry joined us for the day. Neen’s been having problems with her eyes and started feeling sick, so Cat took over driving. It was all windy mountain roads and stunning views through the Sierra de los Nieves. And no dead end cliff edges. We stopped at El Burgo when Neen got too sick and wandered the market. We had a drink then continued on our way. The twisty roads and beautiful scenery made the drive fun. This is our kind of driving!
Ronda was beautiful. It’s a stunning ancient town. We had lunch in a café then wandered around. We visited the Museo de Bandeleros. Bandit museum! Sadly there were no photos and anecdotes of our Lurcher, Bandit. We know nothing about Spanish Bandits, so learning the history was interesting. There were comics relating to them. They’re considered heroes. Our Bandit can’t be classed as a hero. A vagabond, maybe.
We climbed up onto the city walls and walked along it while the others stayed at the bottom. Bizarrely, an American school bus drove past. Cinta learned they were they were filming a programme called Fear Factory at the high bridge. Again, we accidentally wandered into an event. This time it was a TV series.
Lynx drove on the way home. We dropped Neen and Jerry off and drove back to Cinta’s. Despite being really tired, and Lynx’s calves hurting, we returned to Jerry’s to meet his wife, Carmen. We stayed until midnight then drove back. The photos were being a pain and not uploading. But the good news is, we can now drive the car comfortably and navigate our way around Cinta’s part of Fuengirola.
